Security Awareness - phone call scam: don't be a victim

If you receive a phone call from a
security 'expert' at Microsoftor any well know branding offering to fix your PC or support your
IT issues - it's a scam.
how to avoid the phone scam.
1.Don’t trust unsolicited calls ,put the phone down. Get rid of the
caller. It is not a legitimate call.
2. During your conversation, don't provide any
personal information. This is a good rule for any unsolicited call. . Just
don't do it.
3. Nevergive
control of your computer to an any party unless you can confirm that it
is a legitimate representative of a ISM eGroup IT support team.
4. If possible get the caller's details and immediately reportit to ISM
eGroup IT support team.
5. don’t share UserName and Password with anyone for any reason .
5. Finally, changeany passwords
and usernames that could plausibly have been compromised, and inform ISM eGroup
IT Team ( Ext 44 or [email protected])
